Fill out Non-Athlete Application
To start you will need to fill out the Non-Athlete Application. This form will be sent to our LSC chairman to attach you to OST as an official. The cost of the application is 76.00 and check should be made out to Opelika Park and Rec. Application form and check should be returned to Tyler (you can also choose to have Tyler charge your account online). At the completion of becoming an official you will receive a 76.00 credit to your monthly billing. There other costs that come with being an official that OST will not be able to cover.
Create USA Swimming Account
After filling out your application you will need to create a USA Swimming Member account. You can do so at the link below. This is where you will take your test, track your training, and find other officials resources.
Complete Online Background Check and Trainings
All USA Swimming Non-Athlete Memebers must complete the following training.

Take Officials Test
After competing your background check, athlete protection training, and concussion training you’ll need to take your online stroke and turn test.

Complete On-Deck Training
The last step to becoming and official is to complete 6 sessions of apprenticing. These sessions must be done at two different meets.
