Know your Start Level:

If you are a new student, then we need to pick out the right starting spot.  Below is a list and description of our first four levels.  Where do you feel like your student would best fit? It’s best to pick on the conservative side, we can always move them up if we need to!

Level 1 -2: Beginner Swim Lessons

If your swimmer is afraid of the water, does not like to get their face wet, or has only been in the water with a float device they need to start in level 1-2.

Beginning Water Introduction (Instructor Assisted)–
Focus is on finding comfort in the water.  All skills will be performed with the assistance of the instructor.  Skills will be centered on knowing how to get the face wet, blowing bubbles, floating on back, kicking, and submerging underwater.  Swimmers in level one typically have no lesson experience, do not know how to float, have a fear of the water, and are just getting started!

The goal at the end of this level is that swimmers will be able to comfortably go underwater, float on their own, and have the fundamentals of kicking.

Level 2-3: Intermediate Swim Lessons

Swimmers must be comfortable going underwater, blowing bubbles with face in water, be able to float on their own, and have the fundaments of kick down.

Intermediate Swim Lessons (Working towards independence and movement)–
At the end of level 2-3 we will be kicking on their stomach and back on their own.  They will be able to jump into the water and return to the wall on their own. They will also start learning how to swim freestyle and backstroke.

Level 3-4: Advanced Swim Lessons

The Main goal in Level 3-4 is increasing time and distance for each skill. We are also looking to build proficient Freestyle, Backstroke, and Kicking.

At the end of level 4, swimmers will be able to swim a full 25-yard lap of freestyle and backstroke, and kick 50 yards with a board.  Swimmers starting in level four have basic freestyle and backstroke arm movements down, can tread water for 10 seconds, and can kick efficiently for approximately 10 yards on a board.  Our hope is that after you’ve completed all these skills that you join swim team!!!
