The Opelika Swim Team is a 100+ member year round competitive team. We have two main teams that train and practice at the Opelika SportsPlex. Our USA Swimming member team swims 6 days a week from September – July.
Our Parks and Recreation program swims 4 days a week during the summer months of June and July. All teams compete under Alabama Recreation and Parks Association, USA Swimming and with Alabama High School Association. Our swimmers range in age from 4-18 years old.
OST has accomplished a lot in recent seasons. We placed 2nd in District V Championships and 8th overall in the ARPA State Championships. Our swimmers brought home 3 GOLD medals and many others from the state meet. In the fall and winter season with USA swimming our swimmers have continued to move up at the Southeastern Championships. With countless top 10 finishes and high point awards, OST keeps improving!
We compete in close to 30 meets throughout the year and have traveled to meets in Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia. Along with being a very competitive team we also have a lot of fun at the same time. We have a Halloween party, valentine party, ice cream party, pizza party, scavenger hunts, and coaches vs swimmers and parents races throughout the year.
